Metal Garage Doors

Steel garage doors represent the most balanced garage door type available. They have great strength and will not break as easily as other types. They have a fair amount of aesthetic value, as wood grain or other patterns can be stamped onto them. Steel garage doors require less maintenance than other types, and they will not warp, crack or decay like wood or fiberglass doors might.

Almost all steel garage doors are clad in vinyl or made with baked-on polyester. This provides protection from denting, allows for patterns and color to be easily added, and helps with insulation. With this cladding, the metal door won’t rust or fade. However, the greatest threat to steel garage doors is that they can dent more easily. Insulation comes from polyurethane foam inside the door itself. Weather stripping at the bottom of the door completes the total insulation.
